Mitchell Morgan is national news editor of Center Stage, the business news bible for America’s professional performers. And his pressures are mounting in Manhattan.
The Screen Actors Guild/American Federation of Television and Radio Artists’ 300,000 members are in the middle of a contentious commercials contract strike with the nation’s producers.
A conservative U.S. Congress is threatening to scrap funding for PBS and the nation’s cultural agencies: actors’ other major money providers.
His girlfriend/roommate of two years has walked out. Yet another woman suddenly enters his life.
As if this isn’t enough, he stumbles onto a retired CIA assassin/whistleblower who has enticed Mitch to help him find a publisher for his scandal-revealing memoir. Reading his manuscript, Mitch shockingly discovers he’s seeking revenge: “I finally realized I had spent my life killing the wrong people…as one last action, I’ll kill the right people.”
And now the CIA is knocking on Mitch’s door.
How does an ethical journalist, and long-time recovering alcoholic, respond to all this?
How would you?
